4. Our Top Pick: G4Free Archery Deluxe Canvas Back Arrow Quiver

This back quiver is made from durable material, as it does it on the back it is very lightweight. The section that holds the arrows are very deep, which means you can use it with any arrow size. One thing I am impressed about is the number of arrows it holds, you should be able to store around 30.

The G4Free back quiver can be used by both right and left handed archers, it features comfortable clip-on straps which can be easily adjusted. These straps make it incredibly easy to take and take off.

Price wise, it’s very reasonable for a solid, high-quality quiver for your arrows.

Bow Quiver Reviews

7. Our Top Pick: Trophy Ridge Lite-1 5 Arrow Quiver

Trophy Ridge is back again with another excellent quality quiver to mount on your bow. It’s made from a CoPolymer construction to provide additional strength and durability. They have covered it in Ballistix, which helps to absorb the sound and vibration of your shot.

I like that it has mounting brackets that can be customized, allowing you to move it higher or lower on the bow. I also like the option to quickly detach it from the bow, as well as supplying a loop to carry it if you don’t want to reattach right away.  The Lite-1 Quiver from Trophy Ridge also features a dual gripper for your arrows to keep them in place and supports all types of arrows, it will fit 5 arrows in total.

It also features 3 green LED lights on the top hood which does look pretty cool but also helps in those low light situations. Price wise it is one of the more expensive bow mounted quivers but you do get what you pay for and the quality is great.

  • Two Arrow GrippersTwo Arrow Grippers
  • Quickly Detach From Bow
  • 3 LED Lights
  • Ballistix Coated
  • Durable
  • Heavier Than Some AlternativesHeavier Than Some Alternatives
  • More Expensive Than Other Options

8. Trophy Ridge 5 Spot Bow Quiver

The 5 spot bow quiver is another option from Trophy Ridge and is very popular. Like the Lite-1, you are able to make a lot of adjustments to get it comfortable for you, this includes moving it up and down, as well as forwards and backward. I like the fact that it also fits tight to the riser, so it doesn’t get in the way when holding your bow.

The hood is excellent quality and is said to be incredibly durable, keeping your arrow tips completely protected. Arrows are clipped in with a dual gripping system, keeping them out of the way but easily accessible. You can also easily detach it from the bow and use the provided loop to hang or carry it off the bow for ease of movement.

Price wise it is the cheapest of the 3 recommended bow mounted quivers, but you are not losing out on quality. I would consider this an excellent option.

  • Lightweight
  • Dual Arrow Grippers
  • Adjustable PositioningAdjustable Positioning
  • Easily Detached
  • Quiet
  • Color Options
  • Not ambidextrous (Get the right one for your correct hand)

9. LimbSaver Silent Quiver for Bow Hunting

The final recommendation for a bow mounted quiver is the LimbSaver Silent, promoted more to those interested in hunting due to the design. They use material that absorbs vibration, helping to make it very quiet.

Like the other options, it does allow you to store 5 arrows and these connect using a dual gripping system. The quiver itself is also lightweight and has a thumb release that is easily accessed.

Unlike the other two, there are more color variations.

  • Quiet
  • Absorbs Vibration
  • Dual Arrow Gripping System
  • Lightweight
  • Not Suitable For All Arrow Types

Bow Youth Quivers

Many young adults might be fine with some of the above options, however, if you are looking for a youth quiver then I would recommend the ones below. I couldn’t find any hip quivers so if your child would prefer one of them, I would suggest one of the above as they can be adjusted

10. Our Top Pick: Allen Youth Archery Compact Back Quiver

This youth quiver is a nice low-cost option but is still made to last a decent amount of use. It is made from a heavy-duty neoprene and features an adjustable strap. It should be able to store 14 arrows inside and has been designed to prevent arrows from falling out.

There are two color options, Green & Black and Pink & Black.

  • Low in Cost
  • Holds A Decent Amount Of Arrows
  • Made From Heavy-Duty Materials
  • Adjustable Strap
  • Basic Quiver – Gets The Job Done

11. EBBQ Tarantula Youth Back Arrow Quiver

If you are looking for another low-cost option for storing arrows for your child, this one would be ideal. It’s pretty cheap but made fairly well so it’s actually good value for money.

There are 3 different color variations. I like the fact that it can be worn on the left or the right-hand side and fits most sized arrows, although cannot use broadheads.

My only criticism for this bow is that it only fits around 8 arrows, although if you are typically only shooting 6 arrows per round that’s not a big issue.

  • Lightweight
  • Low in Price
  • Suitable For Both Left and Right Archers
  • 3 Color Variations
  • Fits Most Sized Arrows
  • Not Suitable For Broadheads
  • Can Only Store 8 Arrows

The Best Quivers – Hip, Back And Bow – Buyers Guide

The Different Types of Arrow Quivers

There are three different types of quivers, the best one would depend on your personal preference. I have written about each type below to hopefully help you find which one is ideal for you.

The Best Quivers

Hip Quivers

Hip quivers are often known as side quivers and are one of the most popular types. The hip is the easiest place to get access to your arrows, which is why its used by many hunters, hobbyist, and competitive target archers.

These quivers are kept up by your waist, many of them come with a belt or strap to allow them to hang towards the side of you. If one that you buy doesn’t, you should be able to put a normal belt through the loop.

One question I get asked a lot from beginners is what side should you wear your hip quiver? If you are shooting with your right hand then it will be positioned on your right side, so you can easily get them. You can either have the arrows facing towards you making them easier to get to, or facing behind you so that it doesn’t get in your way.

Ultimately you should wear it based on whatever is more comfortable for you.

Back Quivers

If you are into your fantasy then no doubt you would have seen back quivers as the go-to for archers. They can look great but practically they are not the best type of quiver to get unless you need to carry your arrows whilst hunting/hiking. Imagine kneeling down or bending over with a back quiver, the arrows are just going to fall out…

I also find the arrows are not as easily accessible as they are with a hip quiver, but again it is down to personal preference. I imagine back quivers are going to be used more by archers that are into traditional archery or those that enjoy roleplay/cosplay.

Bow Quivers

Bow quivers or as some referer to them as bow mounted quivers are more commonly used by hunters since the arrows are easily accessed and not hanging to one side. These types of quivers can be used on compound bows and recurve bows, as long as they have the screw holes drilled into the riser. Some quivers are designed to be easily detached and reattached, ideal for hunters that want to remove the quiver when shooting at their target.

The arrows are fastened to the quiver usually by the top and the bottom of the arrow, making sure that they are secure so no risk of them falling out. The quiver is connected to the bow on the opposite side of the arrow rest, to prevent it from getting in the way when nocking your arrow.

Quivers With Tubes

If you have done any recent into the different types of arrow quivers, you will no doubt have seen that some have tubes in them whilst others don’t. I would personally recommend getting one with tubes as this help to protect the arrows and your arrows could eventually become pretty expensive.

Typically your quiver will have 3 or 5 tubes, which allows you to separate your arrows. This preventing you from having too many in one tube and causing them to damage each other. As you get further into your archery journey, you will soon find yourself with a nice collection of arrows. These tubes are therefore excellent at helping you to group your arrows, so you know how many you have or keeping a selection of backup arrows in case you do a Robin Hood.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most common questions I get about finding the best quiver, if you have a question and I have not answered it please leave a comment and I’ll be more than happy to answer it for you.

What is the Best Target Quiver?

For target archery, I would recommend the hip quivers. This is the type I personally use as they are much easier to get access to your arrows. The back ones are okay but I personally feel it is not as easy to get your arrows and I find it harder to get the back tension on. Personally, for target archery I wouldn’t even consider a bow quiver.

How Many Arrows Does A Quiver Hold?

It would naturally depend on the quiver as they do vary but usually mounted ones are 5, the others range from 12-30 (depending on the size of the arrows and how much movement you want them to have)

What Is The Best Quiver For Hunters?

I personally don’t do any hunting, however, I asked some friends of mine and all 4 of them said Bow mounted quivers. They wouldn’t even attempt to use the other two due to the noise they make and the restrictions they cause when trying to get into a specific position.

I really hope you have found this guide on quivers useful and has helped you come to a decision on if you wanted a hip quiver, back quiver or a bow mounted quiver. In all honesty, the best is going to depend on your own personal circumstances, but all of the ones recommended above should last you for many years.
